Just like yesterday as soon as I finished my bike ride it started to gently rain. I headed over to the whole foods and grabbed a bunch of vegetables for dinner. I made vegetable tofu with a sweet coconut sauce and it was a hit with seconds all around. We followed that up with fresh fruit and Greek yogurt. That was the kind of food my legs were looking for After dinner I got to meet Dan's sister Susan. Apparently Dan's parents did pretty well in the child-rearing department. Three good folks with good politics.

Birmingham AL Not the best weekend to plan a bike ride out of Talledega
I woke up to 65° and no rain. Time to get in a bike ride. First off let's head to the bike shop and grab a water bottle. The guy at the bike shop was friendly and helpful. How was I to know that this was "the" weekend at Talledega. After much puttering around and discussion I came up with a new idea for a bike ride. I headed east out to Highway 25 and up and over the mountains. It was a beautiful ride and the road surfaces were great. I only ended up with 51 miles but after all that time off of the bike lately my legs decided that was pretty good anyway. The 4400 feet of climbing made up for the short distance and it was a gorgeous day.

Wonder what sort of rock that was? Nice photos, it would really be cool if you had a helmet video camera you could turn on! Tell me about trying to eat vegetarian living with someone from Louisiana!
ReplyDeleteSteve ate my veggie tofu dish and loved it. Dan seemed to like what I made at the party. It's my wife from Houston that I can't get to eat vegetarian. We just have to love them and wear them down a little at a time I guess.
