The faithful Prius was loaded and ready to go. I sure am grateful for this beautiful woman for making all of this possible. First stop, car wash!
By the way, I sure I'm going to miss these guys.
This picture was taken last Sunday at the end of my last ride before leaving on this trip. It just happened to fall on the one-year anniversary of Verter being taken from us by a unobservant driver. I'll be safe out there. Y'all be safe too.
I went by Kimberly's high school in Gran Coteau, Louisiana. What a beautiful campus. Lindsey, the alumni director gave me a great tour around the campus. She is a delight.
After that it was on to New Orleans where I took a nice bike ride around the French quarter before meeting my old friends Mike and Mic for beniets and dinner and coffee. The trip down Bourbon Street was definitely a new experience.
We finished it off with a nice cuppa coffee and a stroll back to the hotel. Not a bad first day. Too many Prius miles and not enough lucky miles but escape velocity has been achieved.
